Halloween 2007 part2

Check out Grant he was a Power Ranger during the day and a Ninja for the night! What a day, Grant, Lily and I are absolutely exhausted. This has been one busy halloween, but a fun one. Doug came home around 5:00pm from work and started to get Grant dressed for trick or treating. Lily did not have a very good nap and I was feeling to good so we just stayed home and handed out candy with nana (my mother)
Grant an dDoug made the rounds in the neighborhood and now I have candy coming out my ears. Looks like I will be taking a lot of candy to work tomorrw.

Sweet Olivia or Flounder

Check out my God daughter Olivia!! She is dressed up as flounder from Little Mermaid while her big sister is Ariel. Olivia is 17 months old and is a true sweetheart. I bought her a pair of squecky shoes while in China and she loves to walk around in them and listen to the squeck.

more pics

The first picture is our friend Harper, she was adopted from China in 2005. While I was waiting for my referral I would get my Chinese baby fix by visiting and hugging on Harper. I became good friends with her mother Stacy and she has been a great support for me.
The second picture is of Grant and his best buddy Gus (the storm tropper) They always seem to have fun together and get along wonderfully,
The last picture is at the end of the trick or treating and poor Lily is exhausted. As a matter of fact she is still sleeping while I blog.

Halloween 2007 part 1

Halloween is a big deal here at the Sattazahn house! Today we have 2 parties to attend plus trick or treating tonight.
Both Grant and Lily attend Lakeside Childcare center 2 days a week so that I can work. Grant has been going there for 3 years and Lily is on her third week. Doug and I very happy with the childcare they recieve plus, Grant loves the parties that are planned for each holiday.
This morning the 4 and 5 year old children marched in a parade and then went trick or treating at the nearby nursing homes. Lily and I followed to help out with any straggling children at the end of the line, let me just say that those kiddos made out with a loot of candy.

First Haircut

For the last 2 weeks both my husband and mother have been after me to get Lily a haircut. I have been putting it off because I really want her hair to grow long and because I did not want to change her appearance to much. However today I looked at her sweet face and realized that her bangs were starting to cover her eyes and thought, It is time for a haircut. I took Grant to school at 11:00am and then we headed over to the Hairy Elephant for Lilys first official haircut.
When we arrived Lily was sleeping but she woke up as soon as the snip snip of the scissors started however we did manage to get thru the first haircut with ease.

Lunching With Friends

Today was a wonderful day! Lily and I met our dear friends Dena and her daughter Lindley at a delicious Chinese restaurant called Happy China. The food is wonderful, the best buffet in St Louis.
Doug and I met Dena and her husband Jim in October of 2005 during a parenting class that is required by our adoption agency. Needless to say, we hit it off immediately and became good friends. During the long wait we would call each other to offer support and cheering up.
Jim and Dena traveled in March 2006 to China to pick up their daughter. Lindley is truly the apple of their eye and with good reason. She is an absolute sweetheart!
I hope we cab get together more often.
