Home At Last

I just wanted to leave a quick note to let everyone know that we are home at last, safe and sound. The journey home was very greuling to say the least.
The plane home from Hong Kong to Chicago was 1 hour behind schedule, the baby cried and screamed 70% of the time and would not sleep at all and Lily vomited all over Doug during the 15 hour flight.
After we landed in Chicago we had to go thru immigration and customs. That was a disaster and Lily had diarrhea while we were in line twice. Then we discovered that we had missed our connection flight from Chicago to St. Louis, luckily though we caught the 8:00pm flight out. We arrived in St. Louis about 8:45pm and had to sit in the plane for about 10 minutes until a gate opened up.
We were finally able to exit off the plane and then try to freshen up Lily a bit before Lily met her new family and friends. There was no hope for Doug and I to freshen up after 29 hours of straight travel we looked and smelled like pooh.
We were greeted among 15 of our friends and family with ballons and cheer. I was so happy to be home that I kissed the ground. Lily did great and just took it all in. Grant was a little hesitant about his sister at first, however after being home for 24 hours they both discovered that they are crazy about each other. I asked Grant if he likes her or wants me to take her back to China and he said " Don't take her back to China, I want to keep her"
We are going to take the weekend to adjust and get our sleep back in order. I hope to venture out next week to show off our new little girl.

Renee, Doug, and Grant...CONGRATULATIONS!! Welcome to your home in the United States, baby Lily!! Hannah and I were so excited to see you out this evening. Lily is gorgeous! Grant, you are going to be an amazing big brother. Lily is very lucky to have you! Our entire family is very happy for all of you, as well as Ringo and Sydney. We can never forget about our furry family members. We have been wondering about all of you and when you would be back home together as a family. We thought of you each time we drove by your home as we were coming and going so much on our lengthy vacationing the beginning of this month....left you a message at home one day. Renee....I cannot believe that you neglected to give me your blog information so I could keep up on all that has been going on. I could not remember the timeline of all the events that were to take place, since the last time I had talked to you. It is amazing to see the happiness develop in Lily's eyes from your initial introduction to her to the present. Visiting with you tonight and watching Lily look for and reach for you is what motherhood is all about...that kind of love and trust is priceless! May God bless each of you always. Enjoy your private time together as you all get to know one another and develop new routines. Life is wonderful, each and every day! You are all blessed to have each other...and we are so incredibly happy for all of you. Take care and enjoy every moment together!!:) love, the schultes'
jennifer, dave and hannah
PS....I can't wait to purchase baby girl and big sibling gifts....we'll see you again very soon!!

Welcome Home! Where are the homecoming pictures? Sage can't wait to meet her new friend, and of course I can't wait to see her and hear all the details! Enjoy these first few weeks, even in a jet lagged state. All of a sudden you will turn around and be celebrating your one year anniversary of holding her. Congratulations and I am praying that your family of four is adjusting. Many Blessings!
